Spanish courses at all levels, specially recommended for those students who want to begin learning or improve their level of Spanish in a short and intensive time span. Classes involve 20 hours per week and these courses are offered throughout the year.

Courses in Spanish as a Foreign Language (CELE)

Spanish at all levels, especially recommended for those students who wish to learn or improve their level of Spanish whilst pursuing other studies or working. This course involves a total of 60 teaching hours with 6 hours of class per week. It is offered in the Fall and Spring semesters.

Intensive Spanish Language and Culture Courses (CILYC)

An 90-hour course combining language and culture offered in the summer months for students wanting to learn about specific aspects of Hispanic culture. Students should have passed Pre-Intermediate Spanish (CLM-3, MCER-A2) if they wish to take this course.

Spanish Language and Culture Course (CLCE)

A 225-hour Spanish language and culture course made up of 2 language and 3 culture subjects to be chosen from the wide range on offer. Students wishing to take the culture subjects in Spanish must have passed Intermediate Spanish (CLM-4, MCER-B1.1). Students with a lower level can take the subjects in English. CLCE is offered twice a year: in the Fall and Spring semesters.

Hispanic Studies Course (CEH)

A 225-hour Spanish language and culture course involving one compulsory language subject and 4 optional ones to be chosen from the great variety offered. Students need to have passed Advanced Spanish (CLM-6, MCER-B2.1). CEH is offered twice a year: in the Fall and Spring semesters.

Optional January Course (CCE)

This course has a cultural content and is offered in the month of January, thus acting as a complement to the CEH and CLCE courses. The student can choose between 3 45-hour subjects. An Intermediate level of Spanish is needed to take this course (CLM-4, MCER-B1.1).
